MEET Pastors Craig & Nancy Basler

Pastor Craig Basler is the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Family Church in LaGrange, Kentucky, where he and his wife, Nancy, have faithfully served for the past 34 years. Craig and Nancy have been married for 41 years and are blessed with three adult married children and five grandchildren.

Before entering full-time ministry, Pastor Craig served 10 years in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is a graduate of RHEMA Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and is ordained through RHEMA Ministerial Association International, where he also serves as a Kentucky District Director.

In 2022, Pastor Craig received his Doctor of Divinity from Victory Bible Training College in Louisville, Kentucky. His passion for teaching has also led him to serve as an instructor at Faith Theological Seminary and College and Victory Bible Training College.

At the heart of Pastor Craig’s ministry is a desire to see people become rooted and grounded in the love of God. Whether preaching or teaching, his message continually points people back to the greatness of God’s love revealed through Jesus Christ.

Pastor Craig believes that understanding how deeply God loves us provides the foundation for spiritual growth, walking by faith, and experiencing the abundant life Jesus purchased for us.

His heart is simple: Know God’s love. Grow in faith. Live the abundant life Jesus provided.

Pastor Nancy Basler grew up near the foothills of the Shawangunk Mountains in New York. She has always loved sports and continues to take on marathons, triathlons, and just about anything that keeps her moving. She also enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and spending active time with her family.

At 19, Nancy joined the Army with a sense that there had to be more to life. She did not yet realize that this longing was the cry of her heart. Halfway through her enlistment, she heard about having a personal relationship with Jesus, and her life changed from that moment forward.

Pastor Nancy attended Rhema Bible College from 1986 to 1987. Today, she shares God’s Word with passion and simplicity, helping people understand it and apply it to their lives.

Joy is central to Pastor Nancy’s life and ministry. She often talks about the joy of the Lord and the value of a merry heart. She believes our circumstances do not have to determine our joy because true joy comes from the Lord. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” As Pastor Nancy likes to say, if we want to “last,” we must continue to “laugh.”

At heart, Pastor Nancy is an encourager and a cheerleader. She loves helping people grow in faith, remember who they are in Christ, and discover all that God has for them. Her desire is to experience the fullness of God in her own life and help others experience that same joy and fullness in their walk with Him.

MEET Pastor Tammy ThURman

Tammy serves as Assistant Pastor at Cornerstone Family Church, where she helps oversee the administrative side of ministry and has been faithfully serving in Helps Ministry for many years.

Her heart is to encourage people to grow in their faith, apply the Word of God to their everyday lives, and become all that God has called them to be. In addition to her administrative role, Tammy regularly teaches the Word at CFC, filling in for Pastors Craig and Nancy and teaching monthly Wednesday night series.

Tammy was ordained through Rhema in September 2024, continuing a ministry legacy she shared with her husband, who was also a Rhema graduate and went home to be with the Lord about ten years ago.

Family is one of Tammy’s greatest joys. She has two adult sons who grew up at CFC, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren she loves spending time with. When she isn’t serving at the church, you’ll often find her reading, traveling, or—her favorite—enjoying some time at the beach.

Tammy’s history with CFC runs deep, and she considers it a privilege to serve the church family she has called home for so many years
